Filipino commuters who have yet to register to vote now have the opportunity to do so through the Commission on Elections’ latest initiative.

The poll body is inviting train commuters to visit its booth at the LRT-2 Recto Station for voter registration.

Apart from voter registration, Filipinos may also visit the booth to address the following concerns related to their voter status:

  • Change of name and status
  • Correction of entries
  • Reactivation of registration records
  • Transfer from overseas to local only

The Comelec clarified that it will not process requests for the transfer of local registration records.

It added that the “Special Register Anywhere Program” (SRAP) is intended for qualified individuals who are unable to register in their place of residence.

Applicants are required to download and print the form back-to-back on folio-sized bond paper (8.5” x 13”).

They must also present one valid government-issued ID for verification.

Comelec said its booth at LRT-2 Recto Station will be open until August 4, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Apart from the LRT-2 Recto Station, the SRAP booth will also be available at the following locations starting August 1:

  • Main Lobby near Main Entrance, University of the East Manila (until 5 p.m.)
  • World of Consumer Electronics and World of Safety and Security Expo 2025, SMX Manila (until 5 p.m.)
  • Mabini Hall, Rizal Park (until 5 p.m.)
  • Robinsons Bridgetowne Estate (5 p.m. to 12 a.m.)
  • Chairman’s Hall, Comelec Main Office, Palacio de Gobernador, Manila (until 5 p.m.)

The Comelec will also establish additional booths across Metro Manila until August 7 to assist with voter registration and related concerns.

The Comelec has opened voter registration for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections.

The 2025 BSKE is scheduled for Dec. 1, 2025. However, Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla hinted that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is likely to sign a measure to postpone the elections to November 2026.

Remulla said that holding the Barangay and SK Elections this December will cut short the tenure of incumbent barangay and youth leaders, adding that the aim is to comply with the law, which states a three-year term for them.
