Despite its compact size of 500 square meters, making it one of the smallest IKEA branches globally, IKEA Philippines Country Retail Manager Ricardo Pinheiro said the shop still provides a wide range of products and services tailored to customer needs.
“You [have] access to all the ranges in our shop. You can also collect the orders that you do online or the orders that you do in the store…You can actually plan parts of your home,” Pinheiro said.
He added that the store will feature interior vignettes showcasing various home spaces, including the bedroom, kitchen, wardrobe and living room.
According to Pinheiro, the shop will also offer a curated selection of items for the kitchen, dining, and home organization areas, noting that Filipinos’ strong passion for cooking influenced this product focus.
Home furnishing plan
The Plan and Order Shop, IKEA’s new store format, will also feature an area where customers can receive expert advice on furnishing their living spaces.
According to IKEA Plan & Order Shop general manager Gelo Gacad, the store will offer free consultations to help customers plan their home setups. However, he said that there will be a P999 fee for on-site measurements, such as for areas like the kitchen.
“The specialist is actually the one who will plan the dream kitchen, and our third party will be the one who will facilitate the site measurement,” he said.
Gacad added that the process would likely take two to three days to complete.
Customers within Metro Manila can avail of the service at a standard fee, while those who living outside the region may incur additional charges.
Shop, buy, pick up
Meanwhile, customers will also have the option to purchase items in-store iand pick up their online orders.
Pinheiro emphasized that the store’s location, with its proximity to parking areas, will make it convenient for consumers to collect their purchases with ease.
“So, we will have dedicated parking spaces for customers [who] will come to collect their orders,” Pinheiro said.
“So, they can easily park their cars and be close to the Plan and Order Point…And the parking places are just beside the shop,” he added.
The country retail manager emphasized that items available for purchase online will also be in stock at the physical store.
In partnership with Ayala Malls, the furniture giant aims to provide convenience and accessibility to residents in the northern areas of Metro Manila and Luzon.
IKEA’s first store in the Philippines opened in 2021 in Pasay City, said to be its largest store in the world.
