BINI gave fans an unexpected first listen to its contribution to one of the year’s most anticipated animated films, unveiling “A Parallel World” during the opening of the group’s “Signals” world tour.

The P-pop phenomenon is among the Filipino artists featured on the original soundtrack of DreamWorks Animation’s “Forgotten Island,” an upcoming animated adventure that places Filipino culture and mythology at the center of its story.

During the tour kickoff, BINI performed a sneak peek of “A Parallel World,” complete with special choreography created for the track.

“You might have already heard that, you know, we’re part of the official soundtrack for DreamWorks Animation’s ‘Forgotten Island,'” BINI Mikha said.

“Bibigyan namin kayo ng exclusive first look from our song ‘A Parallel World’,” BINI Maloi said.

“We’re revealing the official signature dance move, dito mismo,” BINI Sheena added.

The girl group joins an impressive lineup of Filipino talent contributing to the soundtrack, including SB19, which covers Francis Magalona’s “Mga Kababayan,” Ruby Ibarra and Carl Angelo’s “Salbahe Ako,” as well as performances from H.E.R., Katseye member Sophia Laforteza and Lea Salonga.

The soundtrack arrives alongside a film that brings Filipino folklore to global audiences. “Forgotten Island” follows lifelong best friends Jo and Raissa, who find themselves transported to the mythical island of Nakali on the eve of embarking on separate life journeys.

While celebrating their final night together before heading down different paths, the pair discovers a mysterious portal that leads them to a world populated by magical and mythological creatures drawn from stories passed down through their Filipino families.

Leading the voice cast are Grammy and Academy Award-winning artist H.E.R. and actress Liza Soberano as best friends Jo and Raissa. The film also features Manny Jacinto, Dolly de Leon and Jo Koy, alongside Jenny Slate, Ronny Chieng and Dave Franco.

The adventure takes a darker turn when Jo and Raissa encounter The Dreaded Manananggal, voiced by Tony Award-winning icon Lea Salonga. Faced with the possibility of losing the memories that define their friendship, the two must find a way home before they forget each other forever.

The film comes from the creative team behind “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish,” with Academy Award nominee Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado serving as writers and directors and Academy Award nominee Mark Swift producing.

DreamWorks Animation describes the story with a simple premise: “Your best friendship is worth fighting for.”

“Forgotten Island” arrives in Philippine cinemas on September 23 and is distributed by Universal Pictures.
