“They say Christmas is about family. This year, mine looked a little different.”
This was how actress and host Kim Chiu described the meaning of family in a heartfelt Instagram post on Friday.
Sharing photos of the people who stood by her side throughout 2025, Kim reflected on the bonds that made her year meaningful.
“All my life, l’ve been blessed to find family in people who chose to love me, hold me, and stand by me-especially this year. Blood is different, yes, but bond is everything.
These photos are just a part of the many souls who lifted me up. Not everyone fit in the frame, but every single one of you lives in my heart,” Kim wrote.
She went on to express gratitude for the support she received throughout the year, adding, “As Christmas is still being celebrated somewhere in the world, I just want to say thank you—for the gift of presence. For the laughter, the patience, the understanding, and the love.”
Kim concluded her post by wishing everyone peace and love ahead of 2026.
Kim’s post comes weeks after she made headlines for filing a qualified theft complaint against her sister, Lakambini “Lakam” Chiu, in connection with their business. The complaint stemmed from her discovery that “substantial amounts” related to her business assets were “found missing.”
Her legal counsel noted that Kim and her lawyers had previously reached out to Lakam, emphasizing that there were “several attempts” to resolve the matter internally.
For Kim, the move was a difficult but necessary step. She said the “difficult decision,” which she described as “one of the most painful steps I have ever taken in my life,” was made to ensure transparency, accountability and to protect her company.
