Host-actress Kim Chiu responded to videos of “Kimerald” fans who went giddy over her brief interaction with her former boyfriend at the Star Magical Christmas Ball 2025.
On Tuesday, November 25, the actress reacted to viral clips of showing her and actor Gerald Anderson exchanging a short interaction after they received their loyalty awards for being with the ABS-CBN for 20 years.
A video of the moment went viral on TikTok, where one user commented, “Relapse malala.”
“Relapse” has recently been used on social media to refer to a strong surge of nostalgia or a return to an old habit, such as missing a former lover or listening to an old song.Its dictionary definition is a recurrence of symptoms of a disease after a period of improvement.
The interaction showed Kim talking to fellow awardee Sam Milby, before Gerald approached her and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek as she stepped away from Sam.

Kim saw the videos and commented, “Nakakaloka ‘yung feed ko ah. Kung makapag-relapse, akala mo talaga eh ‘di tayo niloko 15 years ago!!! Hahahahaha char, not char!!!!”
It was accompanied by emojis of zany faces and rolling-on-the-floor laughing faces.

Kim’s post has gone viral, earning 31,000 likes, 5,500 reposts, and 1,200 replies.
She also reposted some posts expressing support for her reaction.
One of them featured a collage of her appearances on her noontime variety show “It’s Showtime,” with a caption that appeared to reference her response to the viral videos.

Kimerald’s past
Kim and Gerald were each other’s first love team partners back in their earl showbiz careers, with Gerald also being Kim’s first boyfriend.
The two met during the first teen edition of “Pinoy Big Brother,” where Kim emerged as the winner and Gerald finished in third place.
They began dating in 2006 and broke up in 2010. Their tandem, known as “Kimerald,” became popular among fans, with the name formed from a portmanteau of their first names.
In 2015, Kim implied that Gerald had cheated on her. The actor later entered a two-year relationship with Maja Salvador.
Kim is now paired with Paulo Avelino as her current on-screen partner, while Gerald recently ended his relationship with Julia Barretto, whom he dated for more than six years.
