Host-comedienne Pokwang took a swipe at the daughters of a government official and contractors in a social media post showcasing her outfit, which she claimed was purchased from a fast fashion app.
On Tuesday, October 14, Pokwang shared clips of content creators Jammy Cruz, Claudine Co, and Vern and Verniece Enciso flaunting their attire. She then contrasted their looks with a video of herself wearing a halter shift dress, which she claimed to have bought from Shein.
“SHEIN VS mamahaling outfit ng mga anak ng magna [magnanakaw] haahahaha, sinayang ang pera ng bayan, woohoo, tapos, mi, hindi nakahabol sa outfit ko na SHEIN!!!” she wrote on Instagram.

Her post caught the attention of singer Lani Misalucha, who quipped, “Planggana garapon! ‘Di kailangan ng branded! ‘Yan pa lang, winner na!”
Other comments included the following:
“It feels great wearing Shein dahil galing sa malinis at marangal na hanapbuhay ang pinambili nito,” another Instagram user said.
“Nasa nagdadala ‘yan, miss Pokwang, kahit ginto pa isuot nila.
You look fabulous,” a different online user wrote.
Pokwang was referencing Jammy, Claudine, and the Enciso sisters, who are known for creating fashion-related content.
Daughters of contractors, gov’t official
Jammy is the daughter of Noel Cruz, owner of the Sto. Cristo Construction and Trading Inc., while Claudine is the daughter of former Ako Bicol party-list representative Christopher Co, co-founder of Hi-Tone Construction and Development Corporation.
Hi-Tone Construction is one of the top contractors allegedly involved in the controversial flood control projects in the country.
Meanwhile, the Sto. Cristo Construction reportedly secured up to 45 flood control project contracts, with an estimated total cost of P3.5 billion between 2022 and 2025.
On the other hand, the Enciso sisters are the daughters of Verne Enciso, director of the Bureau of Customs’ Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service.
Following scrutiny over their social media content featuring designer items, Jammy and Claudine have made their accounts private.
Some Filipinos have speculated that the funds used for their luxury purchases could be linked to corruption.
Meanwhile, Vern’s old speech about her dad being a “never-ending ATM machine” resurfaced amid scrutiny over the sisters’ designer pieces, with some assuming they allegedly came from “dirty money.”
Recently, the United States’ Department of State tagged the Philippines’ Bureau of Customs as one of the most corrupt agencies in the country.
