Actress and fashion icon Heart Evangelista drew attention with a series of photos, one of which showed her appearing to raise her middle finger to the camera.

On Tuesday, October 7, the socialite posted images of herself in a bathtub with her hair styled in rollers. In the pictorial, she was also seen holding a burning sage.

Heart kept her caption minimal, using only emojis of sparkles, a Nazar amulet and a white heart.

The second photo drew the most attention, as it showed her holding the burning sage while seemingly raising her middle finger.

The images also earned the approval of her mother, who commented, “Now that’s the Lady I raised,” accompanied by a red heart and fire emoji.

“Love you, mom. Thank you for everything,” Heart responded with red heart emojis.

Other social media users took notice of the second photo.

“The second photo. I love it, this is her redemption,” an Instagram user wrote with fire emojis.

“[‘Yung] 2nd [second] photo talaga, love the combo, sage and [middle finger emoji] I feel the same vibe,” another said.

“The second photo,” a different follower commented with clapping emojis.

“Middle finger with class… ganyan nga, Missy,” another wrote.

Last week, Heart also made buzz when she posted photos of her mother, Cecilia Ongpauco, with the caption: “Called for back up. Mom to the rescue,” accompanied by a heart-on-fire emoji.

Heart has drawn public attention following reports linking her husband, Sen. Chiz Escudero, to a campaign donor who is also a government contractor under investigation for alleged irregularities in flood control projects.

The Commission on Elections has issued a show cause order to the former Senate president, asking him to explain the P30-million donation made by contractor Lawrence Lubiano to his 2022 campaign.

Some online users have raised questions about whether Heart may have indirectly “benefited” from the funds.

The actress-socialite previously said that she wanted to join the anti-corruption rally last September 21, but opted not to, citing safety concerns. She claimed some individuals had made threats against her appearance at such events.

Heart also expressed her hope that those responsible for any wrongdoing in the flood control controversy would be held accountable.

“I do hope na sana may mangyari. I am praying for us all sana gabayan ni Lord ‘yung mga nakaupo para gawin nila kung ano ‘yung tama… do not stay silent, speak up,” she said in September.
