Host-comedienne Pokwang explained her absence from the GMA Gala 2025, which took place on Saturday, August 2.
On Sunday, August 3, the “TiktoClock” host responded to an online user on the X platform (formerly Twitter) who asked why she skipped the much-anticipated showbiz event.
“Wala si mamang @pokwang27 sa #GMAGala2025, ano?” the online user asked tagging Pokwang’s account.
“Nagluto po ako ng paninda ko sa Mamang Pokwang’s gourmet, meron po kasi deadline, mga bulk na order po,” the host responded in a quote post.
“Attend ka ng GALA, gagastos ka, e-effort ka, tapos lalaitin ka pa ng tao, hahahhaha, edi magluto na lang ng paninda,” Pokwang added.

In the replies thread, a curious user asked whether the comedienne owns a “restaurant” or if she accepts “home orders only.”
“Resto, soon po, pero nasa TikTok shop po kami at [Facebook] page po ng Mamang Pokwang’s gourmet,” Pokwang said.
She also confirmed that her business is based in Antipolo City, Rizal.
A quick look at Pokwang’s X account shows that she reposted a fan account’s comment about her absence from the GMA Gala.

In 2024, Pokwang launched her own food venture, Mamang Pokwang’s Gourmet, offering a variety of Filipino favorites such as gourmet laing, tuyo, aligue, alamang, atchara, chili garlic sauce, roasted chicken and ube halaya.
“Made from Mamang Pokwang’s kitchen with no preservatives,” the introduction of her business’ Facebook page reads.
Meanwhile, the GMA Gala 2025 was held at the Manila Marriott Hotel in Pasay City on August 2.
The event was attended by Kapuso artists and luminaries like Heart Evangelista, Alden Richards, Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera, Carla Abellana, as well as Kapamilya stars like Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis and “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab edition” housemates.
The gala celebrated GMA Network’s 75th anniversary and the Sparkle Artist Center’s 30th anniversary.
