Dessert lovers were saddened when a fast food chain announced that its signature dessert would no longer be available in stores.

McDonald’s Philippines on Tuesday, June 23, announced a promo for its Apple Pie, available until June 29.

It said that customers can get two apple pies for P59, instead of the regular price of P90.

“Don’t just say bye… buy an Apple Pie! It’s leaving soon, so get yours while it’s still here. Buy [two] Apple Pies for P59, from June 23-29 only!” the fast food chain said in a post.

The announcement left fans of the crisp pie with apple filling disappointed.

“Comfort food ko ‘yung Mcdo’s Apple Pie [plus] Caramel Sundae Combo. Kaunti na nga lang ‘yung source of happiness ko, mawawala pa ang Mcdo Apple Pie. Bakit naman ganito, McDonald’s?” an X user wrote with a loudly crying emoji.

“Nooo. McDonald’s apple pie is one of the best things on its menu!” another commented, adding the same emojis.

“P***** ***, bakit????? Ito pa naman lagi kong binibili,” wrote a different Pinoy.

“Halaaa, bakit? fave pa naman [ng] toddler ko ‘yan,” one asked.

“Why? it’s my fave. Coffee with apple pie,” another asked.

“Ba’tttt niyo aalisin? huhu, fave ko ‘yaaaan!!!!” a different Pinoy asked.

The McDonald’s apple pie is a pillow-shaped pie fried to a golden brown color described to have a flaky, crisp and bubbly crust, with natural apple pie filling and a slight cinnamon flavor.

It is a dessert staple at the fast food chain, along with its sundaes and frozen soft serve.

The apple pie was introduced on McDonald’s menu in the United States in 1968.

The fast food chain did not disclose the reason for the product’s looming removal.
