A statue of Filipina tennis sensation Alex Eala, reportedly located in Naic, Cavite, has drawn attention on social media.

Content creator Owhen Ranger shared a video of the statue, which features a tennis cap and a shirt bearing the logos of Alex’s sponsors, telecommunications firm Globe and commercial bank BPI.

“Filipino ba ‘yan?” an individual asked in the video.

“Oo,” another replied.

“Taga-Naic?” the first individual asked.

“Hindi… si Alex. Parang tumanda siya. Hawig din naman niya,” the second individual said.

“Hindi talaga ka-fez (face)… parang mukha talagang intsik!” the first individual said.

Another commenter joked that the statue looked more like someone of mixed heritage than Alex.

“Half ata ‘yan…” the commenter wrote, referring to a half-Pinoy.

“Nakita namin si @alex.eala!” Owhen wrote in an Instagram post, adding a face-screaming-in-fear emoji.

The content creator tagged the location as somewhere in Naic, Cavite.

Alex herself noticed the post, leaving a flushed-face emoji in the comments section. It has since received over 8,000 likes.

Meanwhile, other online users weighed in on the statue’s design, sharing their reactions in the comments section.

“Parang mas Alex Calleja,” an Instagram user wrote, referring to the Pinoy veteran comedian.

“Mas Alex Gonzaga,” another commented, referring to the actress-vlogger.

“Alex Eala – Lee,” a different Instagram user quipped.

Another Instagram user, however, reminded Filipinos not to be too “quick to judge.”

“Don’t be too quick to judge. What you see as imperfect might be someone else’s best effort. Every piece of work deserves respect. #bekind,” the Instagram user wrote.

Alex is a professional tennis player who represents the Philippines in international competitions.

She is the highest-ranked Filipina tennis player in history and the first Pinay to win a junior Grand Slam singles title, capturing the 2022 US Open girls’ singles title at age 17.

Alex recently ended her maiden campaign at the Berlin Tennis Open 2026 with a semifinal finish, defeating world No. 2 Elena Rybakina and world No. 8 Elina Svitolina before bowing out to Linda Noskova.
