A priest drew attention for his facial expression during a Mass celebrated at San Antonio de Padua Parish in Parañaque City.

A Catholic Facebook page shared a photo of a priest, identified by some as Father Kevin Crisostomo, lifting the cap of Bishop Emeritus Francisco de Leon of the Diocese of Antipolo.

“‘Yung first time mo mag-MC,” The Servant’s Chronicles said on Monday, June 15.

The photo was credited to the San Antonio de Padua Parish.

It featured Crisostomo, whose facial expression was captured by the camera.

His expression caught the page’s attention, which likened it to that of someone serving as Master of Ceremonies (MC) at a Mass for the first time.

The post has earned more than 1,800 reactions and 45 comments from Facebook users, with some tagging Crisostomo.

“Nice one, Padre Kevin,” one wrote.

“Ang cute mo, Pads, Fr. Kevin Crisostomo,” another commented.

“[Father] Kevin Crisostomo, HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA, isa kang alamat, kuya cooo,” a different Pinoy wrote.

“Fr. Kevin Crisostomo, sikat ka na, Padre,” another said.

Crisostomo was seen at a Mass presided over by De Leon at the San Antonio de Padua Parish on Sunday, June 14.

Meanwhile, the MC in a Mass refers to the priest tasked with helping organize the Eucharistic celebration and directing liturgical movements to ensure they proceed with proper decorum.

Dioceses designate a priest as Master of Ceremonies during liturgical rites presided over by a bishop.

“Ang maging MC ay hindi tungkol sa pagiging sentro ng atensyon, kundi ang tahimik na paggabay upang ang pari, mga lingkod, at buong sambayanan ay makapagtuon sa panalangin at pagsamba sa Diyos,” The Servant’s Chronicles said in its post.

“Marahil hindi perpekto ang unang pagkakataon. May mga nakalimutang cue, may mga sandaling kinabahan, at may mga pagkakamali. Ngunit doon nagsimula ang paghubog sa atin bilang mga lingkod ng Simbahan,” it added.
