A six-year-old amused Filipinos after requesting a tarpaulin and a feast to celebrate his kindergarten graduation.

TikTok user Chanel Dologuin shared a photo of her son, Anescilys, who was inspired by a relative who passed a board exam and had a similar celebration setup.

“POV [Point of View]: ‘Yung anak kung nag-request ng handa at tarp sa graduation niya, feeling board passer yarn? Hahaha,” she wrote on April 4.

A tarpaulin featuring her son’s face and name was also seen at the celebration.

“Congratulations! For Passing the Kindergarten,” part of the tarp reads.

“We are so proud of you!” it added.

“Pinagbigyan kasi [one] time lang naman siya ga-graduate ng kinder,” Chanel wrote in a TikTok post, adding the hashtag “#graduationrequest” in the caption.

Her post also made its way to Facebook, where it amused other online users.

“HAHAHAHAHA! Ang laff [laugh] ko,” an online user wrote with an emoji.

In an interview, Chanel said that her son wished for a tarpaulin and a feast after seeing their relative celebrate a successful board exam result with a similar setup.

“Simple dinner lang sana, pero natuwa kami na nag-request pa siya ng [tarpaulin] kasi [na-appreciate] niya ang pag-graduate niya at deserve naman niya kasi very good [siya] sa school,” she said told Inquirer.

“Sobrang saya po niya, grabe ‘yung pasalamat niya sa amin at mas gagalingan niya pa raw sa school,” Chanel added.

She assured her son that they will always support him in whatever path he chooses.

Meanwhile, the kindergarten celebration amused Filipinos, who shared their reactions in the comments section.

“Maganda nga ‘yan eh, at least mai-inspired ‘yung bata na mag-aral maigi kasi iisipin niya na ‘pag good ‘yung studies niya, may handa at tarp siya uli,” a Facebook user wrote.

“Cute ‘yan, manifesting. Malay mo, pag dating niya sa point na mag-aral sa University or College, maging board passer din,” another commented.

“Katuwa naman, talagang may tarp na request. Congratulations, and sa supportive niya na parents,” a different Pinoy wrote.

It is not unusual for some families of board passers, especially topnotchers, to print tarpaulins to congratulate their family members on their success.

Board examinations are not easy and require thorough preparation, as they are the first step toward becoming a professional in one’s field.
