Filipinos can now easily track the most affordable everyday goods and fuel prices through a locally developed platform designed specifically for Pinoy consumers.
AnoMura is a website where users can monitor real-time market prices for fruits and vegetables, poultry and meats, rice, spices and other commodities such as oil and corn in Metro Manila.
The platform automatically pulls prices from the website of the Department of Agriculture (DA), allowing users see which goods have experienced price drops.
Apart from showing wet market prices, the platform also displays the prices from select SM Hypermarket branches, including Mall of Asia, North Edsa, Fairview, Makati, Cubao and Megamall.
Users can compare and rank markets, create a grocery list and use a search bar to quickly find items.
The platform is also useful for motorists, allowing them to see which gas stations offer the lowest fuel prices and locate the cheapest charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs).
AnoMura was developed by Geian Mark Denorte, who said he wanted to check wet market before shopping so he could identify the cheapest items and focus on affordable options.
“Palagi ako nabubudol sa price sa palengke [kasi] wala akong idea sa bawat price ng bilihin. Minsan, nakakahiya [rin] ibalik, haha,” he wrote on a Facebook post.
Other features of the platform include the “Newsletter,” which provides users with a market overview by date, and a “Weekly Market Wrap,” where they can see the week’s top deals and “tipid tips.”
It also offers a “Monthly Inflation Buster,” highlighting the biggest price drops of the month, budget breakdown and recipe suggestions using the most affordable ingredients.
Denorte said he plans to expand the platform using local market data, adding that the items available on the DA’s website are currently limited.
“Community effort ‘to, so kung interested kayong tumulong mag-contribute ng local prices, let me know paano natin ma-i-implement! Maraming salamat sa support!” he wrote.
