“TV Patrol” anchor Karen Davila apologized after accidentally blurting out her own name instead of the field reporter’s during a live telecast of the evening news program on Tuesday, February 10.
The broadcast journalist was introducing a news report that was to be delivered by reporter Karen De Guzman.
“Nagpa-patrol, Karen Davila,” Davila said.
“Ay! Karen De Guzman,” she corrected, lifting the paper she was holding at that time.
The blooper caught the attention of some Filipinos, who shared clips of the moment online.
“Just in: Karen Davila, kausap ang sarili? Charot,” an online user quipped.
It was also posted by ABS-CBN News.

“My gosh! Alam mo ‘yung parang nag-au-automatic na ‘yung utak mo,” Davila said to the camera after her blooper.
She also took to social media to apologize.
“OMG… ay… Karen De Guzman! Apologies,” the journalist wrote, adding a grinning-with-sweat emoji on the same day as the blooper.

Another online user quipped that De Guzman should be introduced by other news anchors, such as Alvin Elchico or Bernadette Sembrano, to avoid confusion on Davila’s part.
“Kaya pa ma’am? @iamkarendavila, HAHAHAHAHA! ‘Pag si Karen De Guzman field reporter, bigay niyo kay Ate B or kay Alvin. Haha. Karen na kasi tapos D pa ‘yung last name. Ang cute niyo po,” the X user wrote.
“Exactly,” Davila wrote in response, adding rolling-on-the-floor laughing emojis.

De Guzman also reacted to Davila’s post.
“Hahaha. Hi, Ma’am @iamkarendavila!! You made my day po, hihi,” she wrote, adding heart emojis.

“Karen-to-Karen during live news reports,” De Guzman wrote in another post.
“Buti na lang talaga, hindi na po need i-mention ang surname after lead in, haha. Forever a fan of Ms. @iamkarendavila!” she added.
De Guzman also shared a compilation of clips showing her being introduced by her namesake, including the final one featuring the blooper and the news anchors’ reactions.

This was not the first time Davila had a blooper during a live telecast.
In a 2024 episode of “TV Patrol,” she unintentionally walked behind fellow news anchor Noli de Castro during a live broadcast.
Davila was halfway behind him when she suddenly realized the camera was already rolling.
She immediately backed out of the frame, while de Castro remained oblivious to the blooper.

Davila was also greeted by a blooper on her first day back as a “TV Patrol” news anchor in 2021.
During an evening newscast, a leaf suddenly fell on her face while her fellow anchors, Henry Omaga-Diaz and Sembrano, delivered their spiels.
