Nurse and content creator Nurse Even shared a photo of a hotel in Makati, crediting it as the place where his journey as an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) began.

On Wednesday, December 3, the online personality posted a picture of Dusit Thani, a five-star luxury hotel in Makati, which he passed by before flying back to the United Kingdom after a vacation in the Philippines.

Nurse Even recently visited his parents in Manila last November.

He also met with his friends in the Philippines, noting that he had gone to Glorietta with them “the other night” when he passed by the hotel.

“Suddenly, biglang nag-flashback sa akin ang year 2019,” the content creator wrote on Wednesday, December 3.

“This was the place where my OFW journey began. It’s where I took my OET, failed it, had it remarked, and eventually passed,” Nurse Even added, referring to the Occupational English Test, an English language test for international healthcare professionals.

“It’s also where I did my interview for my UK employer, the one that brought me to Sunderland,” he continued.

Nurse Even turned reflective and shared his feelings as he took a picture of the hotel.

“Looking back, this was the place where things quietly started to fall into place. Habang kinukunan ko s’ya ng picture, it reminded me of everything I had to push through… Pero hindi ako nag-give up. I trusted the timing. I trusted the process,” he said.

“Wala lang… nag-se-senti [sentimental] lang siguro ako kasi balik UK na ulit ako. Sometimes, you fail. Sometimes, the path feels slow. But if you keep moving, life has a way of meeting you halfway,” the content creator added.

“Your dreams don’t always start in grand places. Mine started right here,” he concluded.

His post has so far garnered 12,000 likes and reactions, 153 comments and over 150 shares, inspiring many Filipinos.

“Thank [you] for sharing hopes,” a Facebook user wrote.

“Thank you for this reminder, kunars. Badly needed it now,” another commented. “Kunars” is the term Nurse Even uses for his followers.

“Needed to hear [or] read that. Thank you!” a different Pinoy wrote.

“Keep going! You are doing great!” another said.

Nurse Even rose to internet fame in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, with his relatable skits about work life and humorous scenarios involving healthcare professionals.

He has since begun staging live comedy shows in the UK called “The Bank Shift Show,” where he entertains fellow OFWs with skits and other gimmicks.

Nurse Even also has a clothing line that sells fleece items and hoodies under the label “Kunars.”
