In a stunning turn of events, Fátima Bosch Fernández of Mexico has been crowned Miss Universe 2025, securing one of the most inspiring victories in the pageant’s history.
Her win comes weeks after she made headlines for walking out during the competition due to a backstage incident that left her feeling disrespected and emotionally shaken.

Her temporary withdrawal sparked global conversation, but her return has now sparked something even stronger: admiration.
Fátima, born on May 19, 2000, in Villahermosa, Tabasco, has always been known for her resilience. Diagnosed with dyslexia, ADHD, and hyperactivity at a young age, she learned early how to rise above challenges with determination and grace. Her path took her from studying abroad in Vermont to pursuing sustainable fashion in Mexico City and Milan, all while dedicating nearly a decade to volunteer work with children battling cancer and supporting migrants through her initiatives Ruta Monarca and Corazón Migrante.
After the incident that led her to walk out, Miss Universe officials launched an internal review. Following apologies, Fátima chose to return, this time stronger, centered, and supported by many.
Fatima succeeds Denmark’s Victoria Kjaer Theilvig.
Meanwhile, Thailand’s Praveenar Singh was hailed first-runner up, followed by Venezuela’s Stephany Adriana Abasali Nasser, Philippines’ Ahtisa Manalo and Côte d’Ivoire Olivia Yacé as the second, third and fourth runners-up, respectively.
