Resident volunteers in a Pasig City condominium complex shared an update on the case of their missing community cats, months after they mysteriously disappeared.

The Cats of Satori group said on Wednesday, November 12, that a formal complaint has been filed at the barangay regarding the community cats, with the guidance and support of lawyer Ernesto Tabujara III.

The group described Tabujara as a “top-notch lawyer” and a “strong advocate for animal welfare.”

“This is a major step forward in our efforts to seek accountability and justice for what happened,” the group said in a Facebook post.

“While we cannot share further details to protect the privacy and safety of those involved, please know that this action was taken after careful thought and coordination among concerned residents and supporters,” they added.

The group also shared a recap of events after requesting that the condominium complex’s Property Management Office (PMO) review CCTV footage to identify possible leads on the cats’ whereabouts.

“Back in the latter part of July, our PMO finally allowed us to view the CCTV footage, but only under the condition that we sign an NDA [Non Disclosure Agreement]. Our initial request to access and preserve the footage was made on June 16,” they said.

“Because of the NDA requirement and the time that had already passed since the cats went missing, we decided not to proceed,” it added.

The group stated that they have not yet found the cats or received any credible leads regarding their whereabouts.

“We continue to hope and pray that they are safe, especially after the recent bad weather,” they added, referring to Typhoon Tino (International name: Kalmaegi) and Super Typhoon Uwan (International name: Fung-wong), which claimed lives and displaced several communities.

“This has been deeply heartbreaking for everyone who cared for and loved them, but we remain determined to take every possible step toward finding answers and seeking justice,” the group said.

Last June, the volunteer group sought support from Satori residents to urge their PMO to be transparent about the case and to launch an investigation.

“Over the past several months, a number of community cats we’ve cared for have gone missing — some quietly, others under unclear and concerning circumstances. First in January, and again in June 2025. We don’t know where they are. We don’t know why. But we know this: THEY MATTER,” the group previously said.

The group cares for the community cats on the condominium’s premises, which have been neutered and vaccinated.

Community cats are unowned felines that live in a specific area and are often cared for by local residents and workers.
