A sedan with flashing lights in Bulacan during rainy weather has raised safety concerns among motorists.

On Tuesday, November 4, the Facebook page “Parkeserye,” which shares reader-submitted posts highlighting instances of “road indiscipline,” uploaded a video showing a vehicle with unusual lighting.

“Sarap kasabay sa kalsada, lalo ngayong maulan, hahaha,” the sender was quoted as saying sarcastically by the page.

The video showed a sedan driving in the rain with what appeared to be flashing brake lights, making it difficult for the vehicle behind to see clearly through the windshield amid the downpour.

The video failed to amuse followers of the page, who shared their reactions in the comments section.

“Ber months na, naglalabasan na ang Christmas lights,” someone quipped.

“Feeling [X-mas] light ang brake lights ng Kamote!” another exclaimed.

“Ganyan ‘yung mga feeling matulin,” a different Pinoy commented.

“‘Yan, mali talaga ‘yan. Naka-ilaw ang stop light tapos magbi-blink. Hindi mo na maintindihan kailan hihinto ang sasakyan… nakakalito,” another said.

The Land Transportation and Traffic Code states that vehicles “shall be equipped with at least one lamp which shall throw a sustained bright red light visible under all conditions, even under bright sunlight, when the brakes are applied.”

Presidential Decree 96 also states that “it shall be unlawful for the owner or possessor of any motor vehicle to use or attach to his vehicle any siren, bell, horn, whistle, or other similar gadgets that produce exceptionally loud or startling sound, including dome lights, blinkers, and other similar signaling or flashing devices.”
