A mother appeared to be unhappy when her children surprised her with a roasted pig or lechon on her birthday.
Mum Adelaida Comahig, 60, knew she was having a party on her special day but was unaware her family had cooked an entire pig to celebrate in Lanao del Norte.
Footage shows Adelaida emerging from the kitchen into the living room, where she was greeted by the grand feast.
Her eyes widened in shock, but after a few moments she approached her children with a smile.
Adelaida’s son, Jovert Comahig, posted the moment on TikTok and Facebook, winning hearts online.
“Yung hindi alam ni Mama na may handa pala siyang Lechon sa Birthday nya. Happy birthday Mama #surprise,” Jovert captioned the post.
The video has so far garnered 476,200 views, 23,800 likes, 382 comments and 786 saves.

“You can see from her eyes when she approached you how you were able to touch her heart. God bless to all those people like you who make their parents smile!” a TikTok user commented.

Jovert explained that it was the first time they ever had a lechon at home. “She could not believe it because it can be expensive,” he said.
“She might have looked unhappy, but in reality she was delighted with our surprise,” he added.
Lechon is a traditional Filipino dish consisting of a whole pig that is roasted over charcoal until the skin becomes crispy and golden brown. It is often the centerpiece of large gatherings.
It came from the Spanish word for roasted pig which was introduced during the colonial period but has since become one of the Philippine’ most beloved dishes.
