Calls to investigate certain street signs in Manila brewed online after concerns were raised about the funds used to install them.
On Wednesday, September 10, a physician shared photos of street signs in the city, which he said were installed on the “same street,” specifically along the streets of Pedro Gil and Main Street.
“Ang galing talaga sa Manila, same street na may [three] street signs, [three] different colors and designs,” he wrote on the X (formerly Twitter) platform.
“This should be investigated,” the physician added.

The doctor’s post has garnered 1,600 likes and over 200 quotes.
“And these entail costs, probably millions. Tapos may kupit,” another online user commented.
“Obstruction pa ‘yung [two] street signs,” a different Pinoy said.
“Pag naligaw pa ang mga tao diyan, ewan ko na lang… Korap na Korap….” another commented.
Last week, the physician shared photos of duplicate street signs identifying both Pedro Gil and Felix streets.
Projects like street signage are typically government-led and funded by taxpayers, prompting questions about the use of public funds in this case.
