A Korean buffet restaurant called on diners to show respect after staff caught a customer secretly taking raw meat from the establishment.
K Flavors Buffet in Baguio City appealed to customers to practice “responsible behavior” after encountering a diner taking meat home more than once while dining.
“We recently caught a customer secretly bagging raw meat inside our restaurant,” the business said in a Facebook post on August
“What makes it even sadder is that they dined with their kids,” it added.
“Thankfully, one of our attentive staff members noticed the act and discovered 722 grams of meat being placed into a plastic bag brought by the customer — indicating that the act was premeditated,” the restaurant said.
“According to our staff, this particular customer had already raised suspicions during previous visits, as their table would often be seen with an unusually large amount of meat that would suddenly disappear shortly after,” it continued.
The restaurant said that this was not the first time such an incident had occurred.
“To the public, we appeal for your understanding and cooperation. As much as we, restaurant owners, strive to serve you responsibly, we also hope for responsible behavior in return,” it stated.
“Owning a business doesn’t mean profits come easy — just like you, we work hard every day to keep operations going, provide jobs, and offer good food at fair prices. We hope this serves as a reminder to always practice honesty, whether as a customer or a business owner,” the business said.
