This was what Filipino Swifties commented in anticipation of Taylor Swift’s upcoming album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”

Online user @blanded_ posted a graphic on Thursday, August 14, inspired by the Grammy-winning artist’s visual identity for her 12th album, featuring the following text:
“The Life of a Shaw Girl”
The online user shared the graphic in response to a post they made earlier that same day.
“Mandaluyong and Pasig corporate slaves call them life of a Shaw Girl,” the user wrote, garnering 1,800 likes.
They later shared a photo of the entrance to MRT Shaw Boulevard Station, featuring the phrase that references the album’s title.

The post featuring the graphic has garnered 8,400 likes and 1,500 shares, with online users commenting on their experiences living or working in or near the area.
The “Shaw” in “Shaw Girl” refers to Shaw Boulevard, a major highway connecting Mandaluyong and Pasig cities in Ortigas Center.
The MRT provides direct access to the boulevard, with the station noted for having one of the steepest climbs from street level to the platform, reportedly 93 steps, according to a local Facebook page.
Meanwhile, online users commented on the local wordplay inspired by Taylor’s upcoming album.
“Representation matters,” an online user commented.
“Picture pa lang, napagod na ako,” another said.
“As a former Shaw girl, I love this,” a different Pinoy commented.
“WHWHWJJWWJWJHAHQQJWJWJWHA T*NG*NA, tnx [thanks] Taylor, nire-represent talaga ng music mo buhay ko, est track 6,” another said.
“Me walking from Technopoint hanggang Shaw Boulevard para sumakay pauwi,” a different online user with a loudly crying emoji.
“As a Manda [Mandaluyong] corpo gay for [eight] years, I will use this,” another wrote.
The Light Rail Transit–Line 1 joined the buzz earlier this week by posting content referencing Taylor Swift’s new album.

The artist’s latest album features 12 tracks, which the singer said were developed during her “Eras Tour” in Europe.
Her boyfriend, footballer Travis Kelce, described the album as “a lot more upbeat” and “more fun, pop, excitement,” calling it “a complete 180” from her previous The Tortured Poets Department album.
Taylor said the new album explores “everything that was going on behind the curtain” and marks her first release since reclaiming the rights to her full back catalog after a dispute with record executives.
