After enduring yet another bout of flooding, culinary content creator Ninong Ry, based in Malabon City, is now considering relocating his studio, saying the emotional, physical and financial toll has become too heavy to bear.

“Nakaraos na kami sa baha at ngayon, pagkatapos ng deep cleaning, malinis na ulit,” Ninong Ry said in a heartfelt post.

“Nakakalungkot isipin na mauulit pa rin to. Sobrang daming oras, energy, at pera ang nasasayang tuwing mangyayari to.” he added.

The content creator said that while he has long considered their current space “lucky,” the repeated damage from floods is making them rethink.

“Naniniwala kasi ako na swerte tong lugar na to pero hindi ba kung naniniwala ka sa konsepto ng swerte, dapat naniniwala ka din sa konsepto ng malas?” he wondered.

Ninong Ry is now calling on his followers for help in finding a new space, ideally a house or a location that can be converted into a studio. He is now searching for a new space, not too far from Malabon, to make commuting easier for the their team. Ideally, the location would have parking and be less prone to flooding.

“Hindi madali itong desisyon na to pero tingin namin kailangan naming gawin to para magpatuloy pa tong ginagawa natin,” HE said, noting that the move is necessary for them to keep going.

The vlogger also posted photos of the aftermath of flooding in his home.

Last July 22, Ninong Ry also uploaded photos that showed his flooded kitchen and studio, where he films and edits his videos, amid the onslaught of southwest monsoon and tropical cyclones.

He previously said that as a resident of flood-prone Malabon City, he has developed a “sense of acceptance” that some of his belongings may get damaged by floods.

The vlogger then posted a message of hope: “Makakaahon din tayo. Laban lang.”
