Job advertisement of the US Embassy in Manila for a digital production assistant on September 13, 2022 (Facebook/US Embassy in Manila)

Filipinos were amused by the unusual job advertisement post for the United States Embassy in the Philippines.

In a post on September 13, the Facebook page of the US Embassy said that it is looking for a digital production assistant.

“Help? We are looking for qualified applicants for the Digital Production Assistant position, who will produce visual and multimedia content for the U.S. Embassy,” the post reads.

The deadline for applications is on Friday, September 16.

The publication material it used for this vacancy seemed to be telling of its urgency.

It looked unprofessional and messy. The Word Art texts were not well-aligned. The logos and graphics were also out of place.

The intention for this move seemed to have been fulfilled.

The post garnered much attention on Facebook with 6,400 reactions, 759 comments and 1,400 shares on the platform.

Facebook users expressed their amusement with the funny graphic for the job ad via the comments section.

“Akala ko meme page. Legit pala,” one user said.

“Mukhang badly needed nga hahahaha,” another user commented.

“They need help ASAP,” another user said.

Other users also joked that they are experts on WordArt and Pics Art in reference to what was used on the graphic.

Both WordArt and PicsArt are computer-generated editing programs.

“I’m a Graduate of Multimedia Arts major in Pics Art. How to apply po?” one user said.

“I’m good at Word Art. I still have it installed in my 3.5inch floppy disk,” another user commented.
