Outgoing Vice President Leni Robredo said she would put up the paintings she received during the campaign season on an exhibit, eyed to raise funds for her upcoming non-government organization, “Angat Buhay.”

Robredo shared this plan during the last episode of her radio show “Biserbisyong Leni” which aired on RMN DZXL 558 last Sunday, June 27.

“Napaka-heartbreaking bitawan, pero tingin namin ito yung best way na ilagay sa prominent place yung binigay nila sa amin,” she told her co-host broadcaster Ely Saludar, referring to the paintings gifted by her supporters.

Robredo previously said she planned to put these items, along with other types of artworks, mementos and merchandise, in a museum or a “pink museum.”

The outgoing vice president also did a virtual walkthrough of how much the gifts took up space in the Office of the Vice President headquarters in separate livestreams on May 12.

“Ano ‘yung mga dreams ko ngayon? Ang dreams ko talagang magkaroon tayo ng isang lugar where we can display everything you gave us, kasi part siya ng kuwento ng awakening, part siya ng kuwento ng awakening na magbe-benefit ‘yung maraming kabataan,” Robredo said in one of the videos.

In the video, all the paintings the vice president received could be seen occupying most of the wall of the hallway outside her office.

Meanwhile, Robredo’s supporters backed the vice president’s plan to put on an exhibit for fundraising for the NGO.

“Great way to be connected with the people who believe and support her endeavors for our madlang pipol,” one Facebook user said.

“Tama po ang desisyon niyong iyan dahil, maliban sa makatutulong na sa taumbayan, mabibigyan pa ng exposure ang mga painters. Hopefully, lumawak at dumami ang clientelle ng mga #kakampintor,” another Facebook user commented.

“For your good service to the needy Filipino people job well done and looking forward to Angat Buhay NGO,” a Facebook user said.

The Leni-Kiko campaign trail saw witty texts in tarpaulins and banners, pink floaters, pink onion headpieces and other innovative campaign paraphernalia from supporters in different provinces.

Farewell to ‘Biserbisyong Leni’

Robredo launched “Biserbisyong Leni” in 2017 with Saludar as a weekly public service that tackled different legal and social issues in the country.

It also became the vice president’s outlet to express her views on the different policies of the outgoing administration.

In a Facebook post, Robredo shared the behind-the-scene photos and videos during their shoot for the radio program.

“Last episode of Biserbisyong Leni today. It was a good run. We never expected to last for 5 years and we did!! Thank you, Ka Ely and RMN,” Robredo said.

“Looking back at how we started. Haha. This was when we were shooting for our pub mats. Sobrang yagit,” she added.

Robredo also thanked the team behind the program: “Thank you, Jopau, Aica, Chari, Marvin, Patrick, Jose, Tin.”

The plan to launch the Angat Buhay NGO, on the other hand, was first announced during her thanksgiving gathering on May 13.

It was derived from the flagship program of the OVP under her watch.
