Comedian and TV host Vice Ganda issued a warning on social media after an AI-generated video falsely featured her endorsing a weight loss supplement.
In a Facebook post, Vice called out the video as fake and AI-generated, clarifying that Vice has never endorsed the herbal supplement being advertised.
“This video is NOT LEGIT! Hindi ko po ineendorso itong herbal supplement na pampa-payat!” Vice wrote.
The video reportedly used a clip from one of Vice’s old TikTok videos about a typhoon last year to make the endorsement look real.
“Ginaya ang pananamit, kilos, at pati boses ko!” she wrote.
Vice then urged the public to be more discerning on the social media posts amid the rise of AI-generated content.
“Madlang People, wag basta maniniwala sa nakikita online! Ang dami nang nagkalat na AI-generated content ngayon,” she advised.
“Maging mapanuri at i-report agad ang mga ganitong video!” the “It’s Showtime” host concluded.
Vice also shared this warning through Team Vice Ganda on Instagram and her own Instagram stories.
The comedian joins a growing list of celebrities being targeted by deceptive AI media, prompting calls for stronger regulation and digital literacy among netizens.
“Nakakatakot na talaga panahon ngayon! ingat meme!” a Facebook user said.
“People should know the real one to fake one,” another said.
“Mahilig po yan manggamit ng mga sikat na artista,” a Facebook user commented.
Some reminded the public to rely only on verified celebrity pages for accurate information.
“Sa mga legit pages or account kayo tumingin …..” one commented.
