The melody is in tune for two music equipment giants.
Musical instrument retail chain Lyric has served as the official and exclusive distributor of Casio digital pianos and keyboards in the country.
According to Lyric’s general manager, Zorobabel Sayson, the company has long been a supporter of Casio, a brand that continues to meet the needs of the market.
“This is a great deal for us at Lyric as Casio is considered the top brand for digital pianos and keyboards in many countries across the globe,” Sayson said.
“Lyric’s strength, with 24 of our own retail stores and numerous dealers nationwide, is perfect to distribute Casio, and we are glad that they equally saw the big potential of this partnership,” he added.
Meanwhile, Alma Joy Cristobal, the brand’s CEO, said the partnership between the two music equipment giants reflects their mission to drive innovation and inspire musicians.
“Lyric and Casio share the same commitment of creating and providing new value keyboards through innovation,” Cristobal said.
“Casio’s focus on advanced technology contributes to developing and upgrading musical skills and talents of Filipinos. Our goal is not only to inspire creativity but also to elevate musical expression,” she added.
Musical empowerment on beat
As part of their goal to empower the music industry, the musical instrument retail chain also partnered with Filipino musicians.
Indie folk-pop artist Kai Honasan Del Rio is among the endorsers of the new collaboration. Her songs include “Liwanag,” “Tongue Tied,” and “Ngayong Gabi.”
The former Autotelic vocalist and keyboardist shared that she grew up using a Casio keyboard, describing the partnership as “special” for her.
According to Honasan, the keyboard brand has played a key role in her musical journey because of its reliable performance.
“I’m a visual person, and not a lot of brands focus on performance as much as function. And I’m a very simple girl; I don’t like a lot of technical things. I just want to be able to play,” she said.
“Casio gives that sort of feeling to me that I can just sit down and focus on my thoughts rather than figuring out how to get the sound I want to get,” the artist added.
Cristobal, on the other hand, revealed that Lyric plans to recruit more brand ambassadors.
“We are aligned with the direction of tapping local Filipino artists to showcase Filipino musical talents,” she said.
Rock n’ roll
Filipino musicians can elevate their musical experience through the collaboration, which offers access to Casio’s Celviano, Privia and Casiotone series, available at Lyric’s retail stores.
The Celviano Grand Hybrid series gives artists the experience of playing a concert grand piano, with touch, tone, and response that closely resemble the real instrument. Its sound is modeled after grand pianos from Berlin, Hamburg and Vienna, and it features cutting-edge sound technology developed in collaboration with C. Bechstein, a renowned German piano manufacturer.
Meanwhile, the Casio Privia series allows artists to express their individuality through its modern, reimagined design.
