Actress-host Anne Curtis responded to a social media user who commented on the trailer of her upcoming romance film with Jericho Rosales, which is set to premiere during Valentine’s month.

On January 19, Anne shared the trailer for “The Loved One” on X (formerly Twitter), featuring her and Jericho as former lovers who reconnect a decade later to “trace the memories of a love and sorrow that never went away.”

The movie marks the on-screen reunion of Anne and Jericho, who previously starred as lovers in the 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Baler.”

In “The Loved One,” Anne plays the role of Ellie, while Jericho portrays Eric.

“Para sa nagmamahal at kaya pa rin maghintay… YOUR ULTIMATE MOVIE DATE IS HERE,” Anne wrote on X as she shared the trailer.

The trailer offers glimpses of the early stages of their relationship before shifting to more solemn moments, including a scene in which Anne’s character says, “For me, saying ‘I love you’ has become a question.”

Anne’s post garnered 9,300 likes, 1,800 reposts, and 63 comments from social media users, including one who noticed that some of the dialogue was in English.

“Kaka-irita, English, English ang mga dialogue,” an X user wrote in a now-deleted comment.

But it caught the actress’ attention, and she responded, “Di, ‘wag ka manood.”

Her reply has received 9,600 likes, 1,600 reposts and 163 comments, including one from film and TV director Mae Cruz Alviar.

“Tomooooo,” she wrote, backing Anne.

Other Filipinos also came to the actress’ defense following the negative comment.

“Get him!” an online user wrote.

“Correct response, mother!! Tama!” another commented.

“HAHAHAHA, nakuha ‘yung pika ni Ms. Anne,” a different Pinoy said.

“Palaban si Dyosa!” another wrote with a fire emoji.

“The Loved One” is directed by Irene Villamor, known for romance films such as “Meet Me in St. Gallen,” “Ikaw, Ako at Ang Ending,” “On Vodka, Beers, and Regrets,” “Sid & Aya: Not a Love Story,” “Camp Sawi” and “Five Breakups and a Romance.”

The film is set to premiere in cinemas on February 11.

It also marks Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray’s acting debut, in which she appears as Eric’s co-worker.
