A Valentine’s night in Mandaluyong City is about to get darker.
Filipino alt-rock band Fitterkarma, fresh off the viral success of “Pag-ibig ay Kanibalismo II” and “Kalapastangan,” has announced a live launch for their upcoming single, “Aswang Sa Maynila,” set for Feb.14, 2026.
Dubbed Bangungot: “Aswang Sa Maynila” Single Launch, the event will feature an hour-long set from Fitterkarma, along with a lineup of supporting acts that the band describes as “carefully curated.” More artists are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
“Fans can expect a very exciting lineup of artists supporting us,” frontman Joao de Leon shared.
“For our set, we’ll be playing more songs than usual, including some older tracks and unreleased material. We’re also preparing a few surprising covers, which we’re really excited to share,” he added.
The single itself will drop a day before the show, giving fans an early taste of what to expect.
According to Joao, “Aswang Sa Maynila” explores themes of displacement and longing, “the feeling of not belonging in someone’s heart no matter what you do.”
“It captures the frustration of wanting to say so much to a person you care about but ultimately feeling powerless and unheard,” he added.
Written by Joao with contributions from bandmates Soph, Ders and Mikee, the track was produced by Xergio Ramos, who helped shape the song’s layered sound. Drawing inspiration from J-rock and heavier music styles, the track also marks a milestone for the band, featuring guest vocals from Kai Sevillano of Novocrane, their first collaboration with another artist.
Beyond the music, the single launch, happening at 123 Block in Mandaluyong City, doubles as a thank-you to fans who have fueled the band’s rapid rise. Attendees can expect booths and interactive activities throughout the night.
