Comedian Rufa Mae Quinto and singer Moira dela Torre sparked laughter on social media with their duet of “Paubaya” on the Sunday musical variety show ASAP.
The video of their duet performance in an episode on Sunday, January 11, was posted by ASAP on Facebook, where it has so far garnered 505,000 views, 14,000 reactions, 127 comments and 253 shares.
They were joined by singer Erik Santos, ex-boyfriend of Rufa Mae, on stage.
“Nakakalito naman kung sino si Moira! Pati si Erik nalito na rin kung anong past nila ni Rufa Mae!” ASAP captioned its post.
In the comments section, online users noticed that Moira tried to hold back her giggles when Rufa Mae took the spotlight on the ASAP stage. However, Moira eventually burst into laughter.
“Hahaha pigil sya (Moira) sa tawa pero natawa pa rin,” an online user commented on a Facebook post of ASAP.
“Naka-do not laugh challege si Moira ahhah,” another said.
“Try not to laugh challenge ba ‘to? hahaha natawa nalang talaga si Moira,” a different Facebook user quipped.
Some online users pointed out that Rufa Mae saved the duet performance after Moira was momentarily unable to sing.
“[Rufa] – paubaya. Moira – pabaya,” a Facebook user said.
“Actually, thanks to [Rufa] Mae talaga. Sinalba mo si Moira. Hehe,” another Facebook user said.
“In fairness sa lahat ng performance ni Ms. [Rufa] Mae, ito pinakaseryoso niya, sinalo niya pa si Moira!” an online user shared.
“Naging husky ‘yung voice [kasi] ni Moira kaya to the rescue si [Rufa] Mae. Malinis [kasi] ung voice ni Moira then magiging husky if tinuloy niya ‘yung pa-high notes ng song niya [kaya di] niya tinuloy. Nilinis muna ang throat niya kaya thanks to yourself [talaga] [Rufa] Mae Quinto go go go,” another wrote.
Rufa Mae previously impersonated Moira in the current season of “Your Face Sounds Familiar,” a reality competition in which contestants impersonate local and international artists.
Moira is known for her hit songs “Tagpuan,” “Titibo-tibo” and “Malaya.”
