Filipino-American singer Bruno Mars reacted to a tarpaulin celebrating his and BLACKPINK’s Rosé‘s MTV VMA “Song of the Year” win in the Philippines.

On Wednesday, September 24, the artist posted an image of a tarpaulin featuring Rosé and another man who resembled Bruno.

“Congratulations! ROSE [AND] BRUNO MARS on winning VMA Song of the Year. PHILIPPINES IS PROUD OF UUU [YOU],” the text reads.

Bruno reacted to the tarpaulin with a rolling-on-the-floor laughing emoji and added Black Eyed Peas’ “Bebot” as background music.

Rosé reposted Bruno’s Instagram Story and added the text: “my hubba hubs”

Her caption was accompanied by a smiling-face-with-hearts emoji.

Several people noticed that Bruno reacted to the tarpaulin, even though the photo featured was not of him.

“FILIPINO HUMOR NEVER MISSES. ‘Philippines is proud of you.’ Bruno Mars flexed a tarpaulin of him [and] BLACKPINK’s Rosé celebrating their VMA win — but with a totally different face. Even Rosé reshared it!” a Facebook page said.

“FILIPINO HUMOR IS IN AGAIN… They might be having a laughter feast,” another page wrote.

“Pinoy humor is humoring,” a Facebook user also said.

Bruno was born in Hawaii to a Filipino mother, Bernadette San Pedro Bayot, and a Puerto Rican-Jewish father, Peter Hernandez.

His collaboration song with Rosé, “APT,” won the “Song of the Year” at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA).

The catchy song is inspired by Rosé’s favorite Korean drinking game called “Apartment.”

Its Korean pronunciation is “apateu.”
