Comedienne Pokwang urged critics of “It’s Showtime” host Vice Ganda to spare her mother, Rosario Viceral, from their comments over the viral “jet ski holiday” joke.

Vice drew attention after putting a spin on the “Jet 2 Holiday” meme during her “Super Divas” concert with “Asia’s Songbird” Regine Velasquez on Saturday, August 9, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

“Nothing beats a jet ski holiday, right now from Manila to the West Philippine Sea via jet ski,” Vice said.

“Get unlimited water bombing from Chinese vessels and a free trip to The Hague by the ICC (International Criminal Court),” she added.

“Promo applies to DDS (diehard Duterte supporters) only. Pinklawans (supporters of former vice president Leni Robredo) and BBMs (Bongbong Marcos supporters) are prohibited,” Vice further said.

“Huwag niyo akong subukan, mga pu****i** niyo,” she ended, which many took as an imitation of the former president known for his expletive-laden comments.

The spiel angered former president Rodrigo Duterte‘s supporters, as it was seen as a dig at his 2016campaign vow to ride a jetski to the West Philippine Sea and plant the Philippine flag on the Spratly Islands.

Duterte is currently detained at an International Criminal Court prison in The Hague, Netherlands, facing charges for crimes against humanity for killings linked to his “War on Drugs” campaign and the “Davao Death Squad.”

Some of the former president’s supporters condemned Vice, with others also dragging the host’s mother into the discussion.

This reached Pokwang, who told off the bashers and reminded them that Rosario has nothing to do with the matter.

“‘Wag naman po tayong ganyan! Kung may na-offend man sa joke ni Vice, e, ‘wag naman po idamay ang nanay kasi hindi naman artista or politiko ang kanyang ina,” the comedienne said on Monday, August 11 at the X (formerly Twitter platform) with a folded hands emoji.

“Kaming mga artista at politiko ay tanggap namin na na-ba-bash kami, kahit minsan, masakit, ‘wag naman si nanay Rosario, please,” Pokwang added with another folded hands emoji.

Vice is known for making jokes that sometimes reference politicians or socio-political issues.
