MANILA – Passengers at NAIA Terminal 3 endured long lines before boarding their flights Tuesday (Nov. 28) morning, after Cebu Pacific suffered technical glitches that caused its check-in systems to go awry.

The low-cost carrier explained later that it experienced a problem with its own fiber optic lines, resulting in downtime in its check-in system.

“While temporary computers and mobile check-in devices were utilized, many other passengers had to be checked-in manually this morning, which slowed-down the process and caused long lines,” CEB said in a press statement.

“As of 11:30am, the fiber optic connections of CEB have been restored. While we are continuing to trace the root cause of the problem additional redundancies have been put in place to avoid a repeat of the situation,” CEB assured the public.

It apologized “for the inconvenience this technical downtime has caused, and thank our passengers and stakeholders for their patience and understanding.”
