MANILA – Following the suspension of Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) chair Jose Vicente Salazar, Malacañang on Thursday designated Commissioner Alfredo J. Non as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the regulatory body.
The order was made through a memorandum signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.
Salazar was placed under a 90-day preventive suspension due to various administrative cases including serious dishonesty, gross neglect of duty, grave misconduct, gross insubordination, violations of the Government Procurement Act, and violation of the Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.
Earlier, Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said that ERC commissioners will choose the OIC from among themselves.
