Living up to all pre-concert hype, the “A Head Full of Dreams Tour” of Coldplay was as much a hit on social media as it was in its sold-out venue at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.

From the time the British band arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport last Sunday to the day after their concert last April 4, the band was able to generate over 1.2 million tweets on Twitter alone as #ColdplayManila was a consistent trending topic during that period.

Celebrities like Maine Mendoza and Bianca Gonzalez were among the first to tweet about the Coldplay frenzy.

Promoter Rhiza Pascua of MMI Live had a very reassuring tweet that accompanied a photo of herself with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

Outside of their concert, the band’s activities were promptly “reported” by fans including Martin’s visit to a cancer-stricken fan (http://media.interaksyon.com/entertainment/look-chris-martin-visits-cancer-stricken-coldplay-fan/) as well as the band’s decision to ride a jeepney and Martin to ride a bicycle around the MOA premises just hours before taking the stage.

Of course, the concert itself and its numerous highlights were tweeted heavily by fans.

With Manila already taken by storm, Coldplay continues its #AHFODTour and fans can follow updates Coldplay’s official Twitter account @Coldplay.
