A community animal clinic in Quezon City called for “basic respect” after a client threatened to leave a negative review online due to their inability to locate the clinic.
Cubao Animal Clinic on Tuesday, June 23, shared that it had encountered a client who expressed frustration after failing to find the clinic despite being given a Google Maps reference and being guided over the phone.
The client later said he would “cancel” the appointment.
“I-CANCEL KO NA LANG, ‘DI KAYO MAAYOS KAUSAP!!” the client wrote in a message, according to screenshots shared by the clinic.
“Sir, sinabi na po namin ‘yung address sa inyo, pati nung kausap niyo po sa cellphone,” the clinic responded.
The client later said that the clinic “did not understand” what they were saying.
“ASAHAN NIYO MAGBIBIGAY AKO NG BAD REVIEW SA CLINIC NIYO ONLINE!!” the client wrote.
The clinic shared screenshots of its conversation with the client and called on its patrons to treat its staff with respect.
“Let us be very clear: we do not deserve to be treated this way. We do not deserve to be treated like trash. And most of all, we do not deserve to be threatened,” it said in a Facebook post.
“We provided the complete address. We sent the Google Maps pin. We answered the phone call. We repeatedly gave directions. We even went outside the building, waited on the street, and looked around for the client ourselves in an effort to help,” the clinic added.
“Despite all of that, the clinic was blamed for something that was clearly beyond our control. If you wish to leave a review, that is your right. But threatening businesses and their staff with bad reviews simply because things did not go your way is unfair and unacceptable,” it further said.
The clinic said that its team works “long hours caring for animals, assisting clients,” and doing “everything” it can to help.
“We make mistakes like any other human beings, but we will never accept being verbally abused or threatened,” it continued.
“We ask for only one thing from our clients: basic respect. The same respect that we extend to every person who walks through our doors. Thank you to everyone who continues to support and treat our staff with kindness and decency,” the clinic said.
The clinic also shared additional details in the comments section, saying there was “literally a signage” at its location.
It added that it provided landmarks and that staff “waited outside and on the street” to ensure the client would find them.
The clinic also said its staff were “willing” to go to the client if they were “really in the area.” It likewise revealed that the client cursed at them during the phone call.
The Cubao Animal Clinic is located on 13th Avenue in Barangay Soccoro, Cubao. It describes itself as a “community animal clinic for everyone.”
