A Filipino fan’s sign supporting Filipino tennis star Alex Eala during her match at the Berlin Tennis Open 2026 generated buzz online.
According to One Sports, a Filipino supporter cheered for Alex during the opening set of her Round of 32 match against Donna Vekić of Croatia with a sign that said:
“ALEX may SISIG sa bahay!”
The fan also included a childhood photo of Alex on the sign.
The post, a screengrab from sports channel Premier Sports 2, amused many Filipinos and garnered more than 13,000 reactions and nearly 140 comments.
“I love that about us. It’s funny, and I’m sure she’s dead serious about it too!” a Facebook user wrote with a laughing emoji.
“Bigyan mo rin kami ng sisig para masaya, hahaha,” another commented.
“Pag Pinoy ang nag-aya, malamang, totoo,” a different Facebook user said.
“Buti ‘di na-distract,” another Pinoy commented.
“Samahan mo na ng Red Horse, hahaha,” a different wrote.
Sisig is a popular Filipino dish traditionally made with minced pork, chopped onion and chicken liver. It is commonly served as “pulutan,” or food eaten alongside alcoholic drinks.
Alex previously shared her fondness for sisig and kaldereta.
Reports said the Filipino tennis star eventually defeated Donna to advance in the tournament.
The viral sign was not the first to draw attention during Alex’s matches. In February, another Filipino fan generated buzz during her match against Italy’s Jasmine Paolini at the Dubai Tennis Championships.
A Filipino supporter held up a sign that read, “ALEX MAY PANSIT SA BAHAY,” accompanied by a smiling emoticon.

American Grand Slam mixed doubles champion Desirae Krawczyk, whose mother is Filipino, previously revealed that her mother wanted to prepare “pancit” for Alex during the Filipina’s campaign at the US Open.
