The platform, called “Istasyon ng Krus,” describes itself as “a prayerful companion for Filipino Catholics during Holy Week and beyond.”
It does not require a login, works offline, and is free to use, with no subscriptions or payments required.
Meanwhile, Visita Iglesia is a cherished Holy Week tradition among Filipino Catholics, in which the faithful visit seven churches as a form of pilgrimage.
The practice is believed to symbolize Jesus’ Seven Last Words or the Seven Holy Wounds.
During the visits, devotees offer prayers to the Blessed Sacrament or reflect on the Stations of the Cross in each church.
Some pray the Rosary, while others offer personal prayers on the Passion, often before the Blessed Sacrament or Stations of the Cross.
The tradition is commonly observed on Maundy Thursday or Good Friday.
