As the Lunar New Year begins, PHLPost has introduced a new set of commemorative stamps celebrating the Year of the Horse, blending traditional symbolism with contemporary Filipino artistry.
The stamps, designed by PHLPost graphic artist Jose Antonio Jayme, capture the energy and motion associated with the zodiac horse.
“The design symbolizes courage, progress, and the promise of new beginnings,” PHLPost said.
In Chinese astrology, the horse represents strength, freedom, endurance, and optimism, qualities reflected in the vibrant imagery of the new stamps.
The launch, held last month at Robinsons Manila in partnership with Robinsons Malls, featured a special exhibition celebrating the enduring art of philately. Visitors were able to see how stamps have long conveyed cultural stories, serving as miniature canvases for heritage and shared memories.
Among those who attended the unveiling were Mara Beatrice Gervacio, Acting Manager for Business Lines Department, PHLPost; Gilbert Javier, Acting Assistant Postmaster General for Operations, PHLPost; and Rey Ong, President of the Philippine Philatelic Federation Inc.
The commemorative stamps and souvenir sheets are now available at Robinsons Manila and the Manila Central Post Office.
