The Land Transportation Office (LTO) reminded driver’s license holders that the digital version of their license is valid and can be presented to traffic enforcers in case of a violation.

The agency said this applies to the e-driver’s license (electronic driver’s license), which can be accessed via the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) online portal or the eGovPH app.

The LTO added that drivers can present their digital license during a traffic inspection or when apprehended for a traffic violation, noting that it serves as a substitute for the physical card.

The agency stressed that only the digital license accessed through the LTMS will be recognized by traffic enforcers, not a screenshot or photocopy.

The e-driver’s license is automatically issued to drivers when they apply for a new license or renew an existing one through the LTMS portal. It can be accessed via the platform at https://portal.lto.gov.ph.

In another statement, the LTO said that drivers can also access a digital copy of their license through the eGovPH app.

The agency emphasized that this digital version can be presented to traffic enforcers or deputized agents as an alternative to the physical card during inspections or whenever proof of license validity is required, as long as it is clearly visible and includes all required details such as the name, expiration date, license type and other important information.

The LTO encouraged drivers to download the eGovPH app or use the LTMS platform to access their digital license, ensuring it is saved and can be properly presented when required by authorities.
