On its 50th anniversary, Prolife Philippines reaffirmed its stand for life and family, calling the household the nation’s most crucial foundation.

“If the family crumbles, society crumbles,” Prolife President Bernard Cañaberal told Radyo Veritas, stressing that the strength of government, education, and even the Church flows from strong families.

He said the group will intensify its campaign for family values, arguing that corruption and other national ills can be curbed through faith-based formation at home.

Cañaberal voiced alarm over shifting definitions of family, citing divorce, abortion, and same-sex marriage as threats to traditional structures. “It is saddening and alarming that our concept of family is slowly evolving,” he said.

He urged Filipinos to restore the traditional family by embracing prayer, especially the rosary: “The family that prays together stays together.”

The golden anniversary celebration at Valle Verde Country Club in Pasig City on Sept. 27 honored Prolife partners and advocates, including Radyo Veritas.

It also paid tribute to Sr. Mary Pilar Verzosa, RGS, who founded the organization in 1975 through her work at the Good Shepherd Maternity Home.

Prolife Philippines said it remains committed to protecting life from conception to natural death and building a society that upholds the sanctity of human life.
