In a spectacular moment, a drag queen recreated Katniss Everdeen’s burning dress during a pageant in Quezon province.
Venz Edzel Delumen stunned crowds and judges with her dramatic performance at the Linggo ng Kabataan Agdangan in Agdangan, Quezon.
Footage shows her wearing a black corseted gown, with embers and sparks shooting from the bottom of the skirt and her gloves on August 8.
The contestant can be seen lip-syncing to Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain” while twirling around the stage, sending glowing sparks into the air and onto the ground.
“This was my old gown, and the top of the dress was bought online. My friends and I improvised to customize the gown and create the sparks,” Delumen said.
Delumen posted the video of her walk on TikTok, garnering 625,600 views and 35,300 likes so far.
She shared that her look was inspired by drag queen Hana Beshie, who competed in “Drag Race Philippines” Season 2.

Many likened Delumen’s performance to Katniss’s.
“The Girl on Fire atake,” a TikTok user commented.
“Katniss Everdeen ng Pilipinas!!!!” an online user wrote.
“Reminds me of Katniss, the girl on fire,” another said.
Meanwhile, Katniss’ iconic” burning dress” from “The Hunger Games” films became a symbol of defiance and courage. Designed by her stylist Cinna, the black gown appears to ignite in flames when she spins during the Reaping, earning her the nickname the “Girl on Fire.”
