A touching moment unfolded after pupils and staff surprised their school head with a heartwarming celebration last week.
Thoughtful faculty members and students organized a party for Principal Manuel Esperanza to celebrate his 61st birthday at Panabo National High School in Davao del Norte.
Footage captured by teacher Eda Mabala shows Boy and Girl Scouts, along with other pupils, lining the corridor holding 61 cakes, which the principal blew out on August 19.
She shared that the principal shared the cakes to the students.
“The cakes were later shared back in the students’ classrooms,” Mabala said.
The school grounds were showered with colorful confetti as cheers echoed from students on each floor of the building.
Esperanza can be seen waving to the crowd while making his way toward the stage, where dancers awaited to perform for the celebration.

Mabala posted the precious moment on TikTok on August 19, garnering 114,200 views and 9,000 likes so far.
“Truly, the universe is in celebration,” she wrote.
Many were endeared by the students’ gesture online. Some said their celebration is a testament to the principal’s kindness.
“First time seeing this kind of celebration for school principal,” a TikTok user said.
“Masasabi mong ang bait niya everyone loves him!” another wrote.
To this, Mabala responded, “Yes, truly well-loved and respected.”
