Filipino-American former Miss Universe titleholder R’Bonney Gabriel showed a glimpse of her hosting duties for the 73rd Miss Universe ahead of the coronation.
The Miss Universe 2022 winner on Sunday, November 17, shared a behind-the-scenes video of her preparing to host the preliminary competition that was held last Friday, November 15.
“From green room chaos and last minute hair extensions, here’s a look [at] my full day hosting @missuniverse preliminary costume show, swimsuit, and evening gown competition,” she wrote on Instagram.
She also included the hashtag “#backstagevlog” in her post.
During the preliminaries, R’Bonney wore a strapless navy blue gown by Filipino designer Chynna Mamawal as a foil to her fellow co-host, Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios‘ red number.
She completed her look with a gold choker necklace and an updo hairstyle with curled tendrils.
The half-Pinay previously said she was “excited” to be back on the Miss Universe stage as a preliminary round host.
R’Bonney is the first Filipino-American to win the elusive crown in the first edition of the pageant under Thai mogul Anne Jakrajutatip.
Meanwhile, the grand coronation of Miss Universe 2024 will take place on Sunday, when Sheynnis of Nicaragua will crown her successor.
Chelsea Manalo of Bulacan, the first Filipino-Black American candidate, is currently representing the Philippines and hopes to win the country’s fifth crown.
