“‘La Luna Sangre’ supremacy!”

The 2017 television series, starring Kathryn Bernardo and Angel Locsin, trended on X (formerly Twitter) following a viral post claiming that a seven-year-old Russian learned to speak Filipino language from watching the show on YouTube.

“Please don’t give your children iPads. One of my nieces, a 7-year-old who has never been outside of the Caucasus, began speaking Tagalog,” the X user wrote.

“We couldn’t converse with her. I went through her YouTube history and it turned out she’d been watching a 16+ Filipino vampire drama series,” the Russian continued.

The post on X garnered over 72,000 likes and 11 million views as of writing.

What supposedly was a cautionary tale against giving children access to gadgets became an interesting story to many.

Some online users were amazed that a young kid could learn a new language just by watching videos.

Meanwhile, some Filipinos found it hilarious.

In jest, a Pinoy X user cautioned against accidentally turning children into Filipinos.

The post garnered over 71,000 likes and 3.4 million views.

On the other hand, another Pinoy pulled up an old “Swagapino” meme.

A fan page of Angel reposted the tweet to cheer for the actress’ timeless stardom.

The vampire drama aired in June 2017 to March 2018 on ABS-CBN.

Richard Gutierrez, John Lloyd Cruz and Daniel Padilla were also among the cast members.
