The Instagram post of the father of actress Sarah Lahbati earned buzz over the weekend after his caption intrigued some Pinoys who perceived him to be alluding to one of his daughter’s in-laws.
Abdel Lahbati, the actress’ Moroccan father, on December 8 posted a picture of the family eating out together with the caption:
“Enjoying every moment with family. The convoy keeps going and don’t mind dogs barking.”
It was accompanied by a biceps emoji at the end.

Abdel’s post has earned 5,508 likes so far. It has also amassed several comments from online users, with some perceiving the patriarch as alluding to Annabelle Rama, the mother of his daughter’s husband.
“[Yeah] that animal attitude is Anabelle the chakadal,” an Instagram user commented.
“Annabelle adding fuel to the fire! Dapat siya ‘yung tutulong na gagawa ng way para magsundo ulit ‘yung mag-asawa,” another user wrote.
“I wonder who’s telling truth.. you think Annabelle was saying [the] truth, she said. People should wait till due… I wonder… keep fighting for truth and for best,” a different user commented.
“[Labati] family serving class and the proper way to respond,” wrote another user.
Abdel acknowledged the comments and thanked those who were supporting his daughter.
“Thank you all for your love and support, may God bless everyone,” he wrote with emojis of a heart and folded hands.
It was Annabelle who first spoke about the couple’s rumored split after social media users noticed that Sarah and Richard Gutierrez appeared to be spending time with their children separately, based on their Instagram posts.
Sarah also changed her name on Instagram from “Sarah Lahbati Gutierrez” to SLG. She also had her hair cut short, which used to be chest-length.
Last December 7, Anabelle said to ABS-CBN News that her son Richard has been staying with her for “one month” already.
She added that the couple’s kids, Zion and Kai, are with Richard.
Anabelle also said she is not on speaking terms with Sarah.
“Nakikita mo naman, hindi mo na kailangang magsalita pa. Nakikita mo na ‘yan. Si Richard, trabaho nang trabaho, ‘yung isa nagwawaldas ng pera. ‘Yun lang ang masasabi ko diyan,” the matriach said.
“Mahirap para sa kaniya, kasi una trabaho siya nang trabaho. Wala siyang ibang ginawa kundi magtrabaho. Pagdating niya sa Manila, hindi niya alam kung bakit nagkaroon ng gulo,” Annabelle added.
Richard recently concluded his action-drama series “The Iron Heart” where he played the leading role of Apollo Adelantar, an undercover agent who brings down a crime ring.
Meanwhile, Anabelle also said the family will travel to Japan for the Holidays “minus one” person.
“Lahat kami pupunta ng Japan. Christmas hanggang January 3… Sama-sama buong pamilya ko, minus one lang,” she shared.
Despite her strong words, the matriarch said on Instagram that she does not want the couple to separate, adding that she “did not know what happened.”
“Nagulat na lang ako biglang dumating ang nanay at tatay galing ibang bansa. Doon na nag-umpisa ang malaking gulo. ‘Wag [niyo] ibagsak sa akin ang sisi,” Anabelle wrote.
Sarah and Richard have not yet spoken up about the separation rumors.
