“Far from perfect.”

This was how Luis Manzano reacted to a post about his interaction with an audience member with a hearing impairment in the October 16 episode of ABS-CBN’s “It’s Your Lucky Day.”

“It’s Your Lucky Day” serves as the temporary replacement show for “It’s Showtime” while it serves the 12-day suspension order that the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) meted out.

“Far from perfect, baka maraming mali but I hope Lester understood naman,” Luis posted on his X account.

In the episode, while sharing “It’s Your Lucky Day” ratings on TV and online, Luis asked the director to briefly hold off the next part of the show.

“Bago ang lahat, direk, sorry. Kasi gusto ko lahat ng ka-lucky natin involved. May tumatawag sakin kanina pa,” the host initially said.

He then walked over to the audience section and went to a person named Lester.

Luis used sign language to talk to the audience member, a rare gesture in a noontime show.

After seemingly understanding the host, Lester busted out his dance moves to the music, thus getting cheered on by the crowd.

Luis gave Lester P1,000 for his performance.

This interaction elicited cheers from some X users, describing it as inclusive to persons with disabilities (PWD).

“Inclusivity ba kamo? Kudos to Luis Manzano!” X user @KafosoMo posted.

“No wonder why Luis Manzano is the pambansang host,” another X user commented.

“Ang galing mo Luis mag sign language because it awareness at advocacy talaga sa buhay nila eh respect,” an X user also praised the actor.

A video clip of it was later posted on ABS-CBN’s official social media accounts.

“It’s Your Lucky Day” debuted on TV on Saturday, October 14.

Aside from Luis, other hosts of the new show are Melai Francisco, Jennica Garcia, Robi Domingo, Shaina Magdayao, Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin.

As its name suggests, “It’s Your Lucky Day” offered segments in the form of games where “lucky” studio audience members will be picked to participate and get a chance to win prizes.
