Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste responded to Kris Aquino‘s Instagram post where the latter said she has decided to “pause” their relationship in consideration of her medical condition and his role as an elected official.

The longtime politician shared the showbiz personality’s Instagram post where she bared that their relationship is on hold since having a long-distance one “will be next to impossible” for them to maintain given the circumstances.

Kris said that her condition “has gotten progressively worse” and that she does not want to be an “obstacle” in Mark’s career as a public servant.

“Thank you, Marc, for being here for me, especially when my [two] ‘giants’ went home. BUT our reality is that, there’s a Pacific Ocean that divides us, a 15-hour time difference, and a 13-hour flight,” she wrote on Instagram on Monday, July 10.

“You know how much [I] believe in you and the last thing [I] want is to be an obstacle in your career as a public servant. This isn’t just a line, you will always have a place in my heart,” Kris added.

“We may not have had our ‘happily ever after’ but being sick has really taught me to look at the glass half full — thank you for giving me the chance to again experience the magic of Once Upon a Time,” the former actress continued.

Kris also disclosed that her conditions included a connective tissue disease which she said appeared to be her Churg-Strauss syndrome, the “progression” of her CREST syndrome, and the “start” of her rheumatoid arthritis and SLE or Systemic lupus erythematosus.

Churg-Strauss syndrome is a disorder marked by blood vessel inflammation. It is also known as eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis or EGPA.

CREST syndrome, on the other hand, is a form of systemic sclerosis, a condition that causes the hardening and tightening of the skin, while rheumatoid arthritis is a condition wherein the immune system does not work properly and attacks the lining of the joints. It causes joint inflammation and pain.

SLE, conversely, is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks its own tissues and causes widespread inflammation and tissue damage in the affected organs. It is the most common type of lupus.

‘Love Never Fails’

In her post, Kris uploaded a picture of Mark smiling and facing the camera while she ate in the background.

The politician shared Kris’ post in his Instagram Story and added the song “Love Never Fails” by Jim Brickman and Amy Sky as a background music.

He also quoted a Bible verse from the First Epistle to the Corinthians (1 Corinthians), specifically from Chapter 13, Verses 4 to 8. It reads:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.

The last verse can be seen in the New International Version, while the rest of the preceding verses can be spotted in the English Standard Version.

Mark also took to Twitter to emphasize the last verse.

“LOVE NEVER FAILS,” he wrote with the same yellow heart emoji that Kris used to end her Instagram post.

The Batangas official is flying back to the Philippines, according to Kris.

The “Queen of All Media” has been in the United States since last year to undergo medical treatments for her autoimmune conditions.

Last May, she bared in an Instagram post that she was in a relationship with a man named “Marc.” Social media users speculated it was the Batangas vice governor.

Mark later confirmed that he was the one Kris was referring to, clarifying that his real nickname is spelled as “Marc.” He said he uses “Mark” on social media and in political materials.
