A local government unit announced that motorists who have committed traffic violations anywhere in Metro Manila can check their website for more details about it, including how to pay fines.
The Valenzuela City government on Thursday, May 18 said that motorists may visit valenzuela.gov.ph and click the “Single Ticketing System” tab on the right side of the website if they were given a citation ticket.
Clicking the particular tab leads them to the Single Ticketing System Portal, which was developed through the creation of the Metro Manila Traffic Code of 2023.
The portal can also be directly accessed through the website link portal.singleticketing.com.
Motorists can input their Ordinance Violation Receipt (OVR) Number or licensee number and their last name on its homepage.
The website also contains frequently asked questions or FAQs which include information on who has the authority to apprehend motorists, how they can pay fines, and details on how they can contest a violation, among others.
The single ticketing system was first rolled out by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on May 2 in seven Metro Manila cities, namely Manila, Caloocan, Valenzuela, Parañaque, Muntinlupa, Quezon and San Juan.
The scheme implements a unified system to penalize traffic violators within the cities of the National Capital Region.
A uniform set of fines is imposed for the 20 most common traffic violations in Metro Manila such as illegal parking, illegal counterflow and reckless driving, among others.
The single ticketing system allows motorists to settle their penalties anywhere in NCR, regardless of where they were apprehended.
The scheme was established to prevent “instances of uncoordinated implementation of traffic laws” that may confuse the driving public in the capital region.
Violators apprehended in this scheme can pay fines through cash, digital platforms such as GCash, Maya, or LandBank’s Link BizPortal, or directly to traffic enforcers with handheld devices.
Their driver’s license will not be confiscated but it will be tagged on the Land Transportation Office‘s (LTO) Management System.
Only authorized or deputized traffic personnel of the LTO, MMDA, and local government units have the authority to apprehend and issue citation tickets.
The MMDA said it would fully implement the single ticketing system scheme in the entire NCR by the third quarter of 2023.
