Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales, the archbishop emeritus of Manila, will remain hospitalized but he’s in stable condition, the archdiocese’s spokesperson said.

Fr. Reginald Malicdem on Thursday shared photos on his Facebook of the 90-year old cardinal at an unnamed hospital in Metro Manila.

“I visited Cardinal Dency the other day. According to doctors, his condition is stable,” said Malicdem, who also previously served as Rosales’ private secretary.

“He just needs to stay in the hospital for a few more days for monitoring. We continue to pray for him,” he said.

The priest made the statement after posts spread on social media calling for prayers for the health of Rosales, who served the archdiocese from 2003 until his retirement in 2011.

The cardinal was reportedly confined at the hospital on January 6.
